Abigail Kearney

Abigail is in her first year of the English Common Law JD program at uOttawa. Prior to her legal studies, Abigail completed both a specialized undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Masters of Biomedical Informatics at Queen’s University. During her studies, Abigail developed an interest in AI built for public health endeavours, exposing her to ethical issues surrounding the commoditization of health data in Canada. Through her technoship this year, Abigail hopes to learn more about how ethics, marginalization, and the law intersect with AI and other technological innovations. In her spare time, Abigail enjoys film photography, playing the piano, and reading something other than a law textbook!
