Batoul Hammoud

Batoul is in her first year of the Master’s in Digital Transformation and Innovation at the University of Ottawa. She is originally from Lebanon. She has completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the American University of Beirut as a USAID full scholar. After that, she decided to pursue her master’s studies, so she traveled all the way to Canada to be part of uOttawa and start a new journey in her career.

In the last five years, Batoul has shown a great interest in moral philosophy and cognitive psychology. She was so enthused when she discovered the common ground that combines her domain of study with her profound interests, which was her main motivation to join the CRAiEDL lab. She is excited to work on projects where she can deploy her skills to solve moral technological puzzles and examine complex ethical issues raised by AI.

In her free time, Batoul enjoys watching old cinematic masterpieces, reading a psychology or a philosophy book (probably for Nietzsche), inventing new recipes for her future restaurant, and discovering new places around Ottawa. She also enjoys working out from time to time, running or hiking on summer days, and playing billiards on the cold days.
