Dominique Pangilinan

Dominique is currently in her first year at the University of Ottawa Common Law program. She completed her undergraduate degree in Ethics, Society and Law with a double minor in Psychology and Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Toronto.

During her time at the University of Toronto, she took a course in Digital Rhetoric, which sparked her interest in media philosophy. She is particularly interested in how the new media regime (characterized by the rise of social media) influences the way we govern ourselves, as well as the societal and moral implications of living in an increasingly digitalized world.

Because she believes that tech will rapidly invade every sphere of our lives, she thinks it is important to examine how the law will evolve to keep up with emerging technologies.

As she is new to the field of tech, she is excited to apply her ethics background and explore the topics of turn-by-turn navigation systems, natural language processing for sentiment analysis, and the like with the CRAiEDL team.
