Katie-Marie Robinson

Katie is in her final year of a double bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering and Computing Technology at the University of Ottawa. She is originally from Calgary, Alberta, but decided to venture East to attend uOttawa and experience a new city. Katie is a new addition to the CRAiEDL lab, but she is hopeful that her keen interest in the ethical considerations of artificial intelligence and willingness to learn will do great things for the team.

One of Katie’s interests includes the social and ethical consequences of computation, which is the main theme in one of her favorite movies, Eagle Eye. In this movie, a sentient supercomputer named ARIIA decides to eliminate the executive branch of the United States government.

Outside the lab, Katie works as a uOttawa student ambassador, holds her RCM Grade 10 cello performance certification, enjoys running, sometimes, rock climbing, oftenand a hot cup of tea, always.
