Coronavírus SUS

History and Context of Coronavírus SUS

On July 31st Brazil implemented a notification exposure app called SUS-Coronavirus using the GAEN API. By early March 2020, the government-sponsored app was rolled out to the public without the exposure notification feature, which was added afterward in late July. Coronavirus-SUS is the only notification exposure app nationwide. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the Brazilian app launch took place at almost the same time that the Brazilian General Data Protection Regulation (LGPD) came into force after a rather complicated legislative process.
